Panama & Costa Rica
For Christmas & NYE 2016/17, my friend Silvia (aka La Piccola Silvia because she tiny!) and I decided to travel to Panama & Costa Rica. I met Silvia while I was living in Milano back in 2009 and she has become one of my closest friends over the years. She is also one of my only single friends left, so we have travelled together a couple of times when everyone else is off on family vacays! It was Silvia's 40th bday so she wanted to splash out - and splash out we did! We flew business with Iberia which I highly recommend as it cost a little bit more than your average economy flight from Europe the West Coast of the US and the quality of the service was impeccable.
We flew into Panama City for a couple days at the American Trade Hotel in the Casco Viejo, which I wrote about here. This was my first time in the Caribbean and the brightness & warmth of the colours were more impressive than I could have expected.
The Panama City Album:
From Panama City we flew to Costa Rica and embarked on a long & bumpy cross country trip to the Santa Teresa, Puntarenas Province, on the Pacific Coast.
The santa teresa album:
The next leg of our trip was driving up the Pacific Coast from Santa Teresa to Nosara, Guanacaste Province.
The nosara album:
It was finally time to make our way to San José, Costa Rica's capital, for a 24h stint before flying back home.
the san jose album:
I will definitely be back to Central America, so many more countries to visit but even so, I would love to spend more time in both Costa Rica and Panama as they are beautiful countries.
If you are thinking to travelling to either Panama or Costa Rica, and are looking for tips, reach out and I'd be happy to advise. Enjoy!
